Nicaragua San Juan del Río Coco (Gold Series) Beans Bag/340 g

Tasting Notes: Brazil Nut + Chocolate + Citrus
This coffee is from Unión de Cooperativas Agropecuarias San Juan del Rio Coco (UCA SJRC) located in the Madriz region of Nicaragua. It was grown in the country’s high-altitude regions (1,200 meters above sea level or higher) where volcanic soil & favorable climates produce a balanced & refreshing coffee with a sweet & creamy body. The higher altitude & lower temperatures ensures that the coffee fruit matures more slowly thus producing a denser bean.
Quality control is key for the UCA. To ensure the best drying conditions & to avoid defects, farmer members bring their wet parchment to a central drying location, where it is carefully tended by Co-op experts. In the cup, this fully washed coffee showcases the Central American profile that’s sweet & nutty with chocolate & citrus.
ROASTMASTER NOTES:
I roasted this coffee to a medium-light, & it is the perfect example of the hard work that goes into high-grown Nicaraguan coffees! In the cup, soft & subtle nutty notes are enveloped by a creamy-rich, milk chocolate body that crests into a delightful & brisk orangey-citrus finish. The medium body & gentle acidity make it a coffee that is easy to brew how you prefer, but its delicate & complex, citrusy profile is best realized using pour over methods.
