Caliber Brazil Fazenda Serrado Light Beans Bag/340 g
Fazenda Serrado 340 G
/ Roast: Light / Notes: toffee / hazelnut / honeydew melon
Direct from Carmo de Minas, situated in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, comes our newest single family farm coffee—Brazil Fazenda Serrado. With soft notes of toffee & hazelnut followed by a juicy & subtle honeydew melon finish, this natural-produced coffee is sure to please. Located 1,100 to 1,200 metres above sea level, Fazenda (which translates to Estate or large-farm) Serrado is a fifth generation, family owned farm, dedicated to producing some of the world’s finest coffees. José Antonio Pereira & his wife Valeria, and his sons Caio & Felipe, all work together to manage the farm.
During harvest, the coffee cherries are manually picked to avoid any cherries dropping to the forest floor. The coffee is then collected three times per day and transported to the mill where it can be processed as Fully Washed; Honey; Pulped Natural; or (like this coffee) Natural. Coffee production is the focus for the family of Fazenda Serrado & every year they try to improve on quality—but the farm also supports other industries. In addition to coffee, the farm has Dairy Cattle for milk production. The cattle, in tun, supply most of the fertilizer required for the coffee plantations. Fazenda Serrado also has a photovoltaic plant the supplies all power needed to produce the coffee and milk.
We’re proud to offer this exceptional single family farm Brazilian coffee. Roasted to a light roast, the coffee is sweet & boasts notes of toffee & hazelnut, and is followed by a juicy finish with subtle notes of honeydew melon. But maybe the best thing about this coffee is knowing that you’re contributing to bettering the lives of one coffee farm family & the surrounding community. We pay a premium directly to the farmer above the asking green bean price. And that makes this cup of coffee all that much sweeter—enjoy.
